Nickelodeon's Number-One Mobile Game App 'Sky Whale' Launches All-New Augmented Reality Mode Today

Original Nickelodeon USA Press Release:

NICKELODEON’S NUMBER-ONE MOBILE GAME APP SKY WHALE

LAUNCHES ALL-NEW AUGMENTED REALITY MODE TODAY

Nickelodeon today unveiled an all-new augmented reality (AR) update for its number-one mobile game app, Sky Whale, available now on the App Store and Google Play. The AR-enhanced Sky Whale app allows users to bring the Sky Whale realm into their surrounding physical space through a device in a 360-degree immersive experience.

The Sky Whale AR mode is a 360-degree challenge that makes a user’s physical space appear to become the Sky Whale sea and sky when viewed through a mobile device’s camera. In the game, players will steer the narwhal with a device, moving through the space to soar through the sky or swim underwater in a race to collect items and accumulate points for high scores.

With nearly 30 million global downloads since launch, Nickelodeon’s Sky Whale averages two million active monthly users. Sky Whale challenges players to bounce through the sky and to keep the narwhal up in the air, using clouds and crazy objects to go higher and farther, even into outer space or on an underwater adventure.

Additionally, Nickelodeon’s popular “Do Not Touch” button, a component featured in its award-winning Nick App, is available now as a standalone Do Not Touch AR app on the App Store. The Do Not Touch AR app features interactive surprises and mini games that highlight both Nickelodeon properties and iconic trademarks, like SpongeBob SquarePants, The Loud House, slime and the Kids’ Choice Awards blimp, along with original animations.

MONTREAL BASED STUDIO iLLOGIKA ANNOUNCES NICKELODEON MOBILE GAME APP SKY WHALE’S NEW AUGMENTED REALITY ENHANCED VERSION AVAILABLE NOW

Montreal – April 18, 2018 – Montreal based developer iLLOGIKA is proud to announce the release of Nickelodeon’s mobile game app Sky Whale’s augmented reality version. The team at iLLOGIKA, also known for its work on Disney infinity Action, Cuphead, Lara Croft GO and Hitman GO has developed a new AR mode for the game, which challenges players in a 360-degree experience, and is available now for download on the App Store and Google Play. Nickelodeon’s Sky Whale averages two million active monthly users and has nearly 30 million global downloads since launch.

“We feel very grateful that Nickelodeon trusted iLLOGIKA to develop the AR mode of one of their top grossing games. We applied our technical expertise in mixed reality to create an incredible augmented reality experience steeped with the brand’s DNA, which will bring a new level of entertainment to Sky Whale fans. We hope that Sky Whale fans will enjoy this new augmented reality mode as much as we do,” said David Fugère-Lamarre, CEO and co-founder of iLLOGIKA.
