Paramount Postpones Release Of New Nickelodeon Movie "Amusement Park" To 2019

Paramount Pictures has pushed back the release date for Paramount Animation & Nickelodeon Movies' upcoming theatrical film, Amusement Park.

The studio, headed by Jim Gianopulos, announced today that the CG-animated feature will now be released wide on Friday 15th March 2019. It was initially scheduled to hit theaters on Friday 22nd March 2019, and was then moved up to debut on Friday 13th July 2018, then to Friday 10th August 2018.

Amusement Park will now open opposite an untitled Universal film, directed by Jordan Peele, the breakout director of Get Out. Also scheduled to open throughout that month is Universal's How to Train Your Dragon threequel and Disney's live-action adaptation of Dumbo.

It is currently unknown if or how this will affect Nickelodeon's Amusement Park television series, which was originally scheduled to launch on Nickelodeon in 2019.

Amusement Park features a voice cast of Matthew Broderick (Ferris Bueller's Day Off), Jennifer Garner (Nine Lives), Jeffrey Tambor (Mr. Popper's Penguins), Kenan Thompson (All That, Kenan & Kel, Good Burger), Ken Jeong (Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness), Mila Kunis (Family Guy), John Oliver (The Daily Show, Last Week Tonight with John Oliver), and Brianna Denski (Momsters: When Moms Go Bad).

Amusement Park (the movie) is produced by Paramount Animation, Nickelodeon Movies and Ilion Animation Studios and directed by Pixar animator Dylan Brown, who is making his directorial debut with Amusement Park.

Additionally, Paramount also has removed an untitled Nickelodeon animated title, initially due out Friday 22nd March 2019, from its release schedule.
