KIDS’ PROGRAM WITH 3.7 MILLION TOTAL VIEWERS


Annual TV Event Scores Weekly Win with Kids and Tweens


NEW YORK–March 16, 2017–Nickelodeon scored big with the John Cena-hosted 2017 Kids’ Choice Awards, winning the week (3/6/17-3/12/17) as cable’s top kids’ program with 3.7 million total viewers across Nickelodeon, Nicktoons and TeenNick. The star-studded slimefest, which was broadcast on Saturday, March 11 (8 p.m.-9:34 p.m. [ET/PT]), live from USC’s Galen Center in Los Angeles, also secured the top spot for the week with Kids 2-11 (6.4/1.8M), Kids 6-11 (8.1/1.4M) and Tweens 9-14 (5.7/1M), marking the program’s biggest year over year gains with Kids 6-11 (+5%) in ten years.


On Nickelodeon, the annual TV event, where kids celebrated the best of everything they love in pop culture, drew 3.0M total viewers and featured Ellen DeGeneres, Fifth Harmony, The Ghostbusters, Kevin Hart, Chris Hemsworth, JoJo Siwa, Zendaya, the Fuller House cast and more being awarded Nick’s coveted orange blimp. Machine Gun Kelly and Camila Cabello took the KCA stage to perform their platinum-selling number-one single, “Bad Things,” and international music sensation Little Mix performed a medley of their hit singles, “Touch” and “Shout Out to My Ex.” Additional celebrities who appeared at the show include: Gwen Stefani, Heidi Klum, Zoe Saldana, Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, John Stamos, Nikki Bella, Miranda Cosgrove and Isabela Moner.
