Nickelodeon USA Kicks Off "Road to Worldwide Day of Play" 2015 Tour; To Hold Annual "Worldwide Day of Play" Event On 9/26

Nickelodeon, the number-one entertainment brand for kids and families, has announced the exciting Nick News that Nickelodeon will celebrate kids' love of play this summer with "Road to Worldwide Day of Play" events that will visit cities across the USA! Nick's summer time celebration of play will culminate with Nickelodeon's Worldwide Day of Play event on Saturday 26th September 2015, when the network will suspend programming from noon to 3pm in order to encourage kids to get up, get out and get active, and its partners host grassroots activities to celebrate play!

Nickelodeon's "Road to Worldwide Day of Play" 2015 tour kicked off on Monday 15th June 2015 at a event at the Ford Ice Center in Tennessee in partnership with the Nashville Predators!

At the Nashville "Road to Worldwide Day of Play", families gathered outside the Ford Ice Center to play Twister, dance, run into giant inflatable bowling pins, take pictures with SpongeBob and Patrick, and more!

Also in attendance were Isabela Moner, Owen Joyner and Jaheem Toombs from Nickelodeon's brand-new original comedy series "100 Things to do Before High School", as well as Nashville Predators player Seth Jones and team mascot Gnash!

Gnash did the "Stanky Legg", Isabela, Owen and Jaheem Toombs "human bowled", and the Nashville Predators' Seth Jones and 500 children got slimed!

"I feel like technology is kind of taking over now, and this causes kids to get outside and play and just kind of get outdoors," Jones said.

"(To) be at the house playing a video game is out of the question," said Antioch resident Ken Thompson, who attended with his 7-year-old, Keegan. "A lot of kids when they do that, they tend to not be sociable. So (I) get him to get out and meet new people and stuff and enjoy life, enjoy the sun."

"Of course he said, when we pulled up, 'You're the best dad ever.'"

"Worldwide Day of Play" is part of Nickelodeon's ongoing health and wellness efforts and combines the network's legacy of promoting positive messages to its viewers.

In addition to the Nickelodeon Slime Launchers and Slime Booth, "Road to Worldwide Day of Play" events will feature giant bowling, inflatable games, Nickelodeon Radio Dance Parties and much more!
