Rainbow To Showcase "Winx Club" Season Seven, "Royal Academy" And "My American Friend" At MIPTV 2015

The licensing news website License! Global Mag is reporting the exciting news that Italy-based Rainbow S.r.l., one of Europe's largest animation studios, is bringing three of its top kids' shows to the MIPTV television marketplace this week – "Winx Club", "Royal Academy" (working title) and "My American Friend"!

The seventh season of "Winx Club" carries on with the environmental themes of previous seasons. "Winx Club" series seven carries on the theme of recent Winx releases by carrying a strong environmental message. In this adventure the fairies discover the real importance of the rare Fairy Animals, which they must save from Kalshara, an evil shape-shifter and her clumsy brother, Brafilius. Each Fairy Animal has their own special talent, which is necessary for the balance of the Magic Universe. The theme of endangered animals recurs throughout the series as the Winx establish an Animal Rescue Park on Earth, where they look after vulnerable animals such as pandas and tigers. The girls also undertake missions in the Magic Dimension and Earth to raise public awareness about the animal cause. This builds to their final mission – to discover the ultimate power of the Fairy Animals, which can give control over all the animals of the Magic Universe. "Winx Club" season seven is expected to premiere on Nickelodeon's global network of channels in 2015.

"Royal Academy" features a new take on some of the world's best-loved fairy tales as it follows the Rose Cinderella, a normal girl who discovers that her grandmother is Cinderella. Rose is enrolled at the Royal Academy where her fellow students include Hawk SnowWhite, Travis Beast, Astoria Rapunzel and Hope LeFrog.

The live-action "My American Friend" is aimed at pre-teens and tells the story of an American girl who dreams of becoming the world's greatest fashion designer.

"MIPTV 2015 presents the perfect showcase for these three new series," says Straffi, founder and chief executive officer, Rainbow Group. "A new season of 'Winx Club' is always a cause for excitement, and we are also very proud of 'Royal Academy' and 'My American Friend' – two magical new brands that have huge potential."

MIPTV 2015 takes place between Monday 13th and Thursday 16th April 2015 at Palais des Festivals, Cannes, France.
