Nickelodeon USA Is Basic Cable's Top Network For 22nd Consecutive Week With Kids And Total Viewers

Nickelodeon, the number-one entertainment brand for kids and families, has announced in the following press release, from TVByTheNumbers.com, the exciting Nickelodeon News that Nick USA closed the week (Monday 2nd to Sunday 8th June 2014) as basic cable's number-one network in total day with Kids 2-11 (2.6/816K) and total viewers (1.5M), netting its 22nd consecutive weekly win with programming hits across animation, live-action and preschool!


In animation, "SpongeBob SquarePants" was the week's number-one program with Kids 2-11 (4.5/1.4M, +15%) across all television and was basic cable's highest-rated kids program with total viewers (2.6M).

"Sam & Cat" was the week's top series with Kids 6-11 (5.3/1.0M). It was also the top-ranked live-action show with Kids 2-11 (4.3/1.4M), averaging 2.4M total viewers.

Nickelodeon's weekly win was also driven by a strong performance from "Dora the Explorer", which took the top spot with preschoolers for the week with the premiere of "Dora's Super Soccer Showdown" (Thursday 5th June 2014 at 10:30am (ET/PT)). The new special episode, which follows Dora and the Golden Explorers as they try to beat the Monsters to win the Big Cup in Brazil, averaged a 7.2/891K (+57) with Kids 2-5. Additionally, "PAW Patrol" placed second with preschoolers, posting a 6.9/847K (+33%) average.

Nickelodeon's niche nets, Nicktoons and TeenNick, posted double and triple-digit yearly increases with their core audiences for the week. Nicktoons notched gains with Boys 6-11 (0.7/49K, +17%) and TeenNick scored a +100% ratings increase with Teens 12-17 (0.6/88K).
